Before you buy always contact us to make sure your car is compatible.

CarPlay for BMW (F and G Series) equipped with NBT EVO ID5/ID6 system (cars manufactured after 07/2016). See in the pictures below how EVO ID5 and ID6 looks like. Both ID5 and ID6 have EVO Navigation Maps.

Check your Firmware Version: Go to Navigation -> Press Options Button -> Go to Settings -> Go to Position & Version History -> Check Version

If you have EVO Maps you have Evo unit.

CarPlay activation on Evo units is possible even if the car has a wifi antenna or not, but the lack of an antenna will make it impossible to connect. Installation of the antenna is very simple.

We can check if your unit is equipped with WI-FI antenna by VIN of the car.

ACTIVATE VIA USB on EVO:

For old firmware versions NBTevo_H, I, J, K, L, M, N and O (see pictures below) you can activate Carplay by USB coding.
The process is very simple. We will send you activation file and instructions via email. Put the file on a usb flash drive and insert it into the USB port in your vehicle armrest. Your Navigation unit will reboot and CarPlay will be activated.

ACTIVATE VIA ENET CABLE on EVO:

For newer firmware versions NBTevo_P, Q, R, S, U, V, W, X, Y....

         You will need: 

  1. ENET cable (is not included and we dont sell it)
  2. MAC or Windows 10/11 laptop with firewall and antivirus OFF
  3. Strong and stable internet connection
Process takes 2 minutes and requires absolutely NO COMPUTER OR CODING SKILLS, you only have to run our Feature Installer, using the instructions we send to you.


CarPlay FULL-SCREEN vs SPLIT-SCREEN

Full-screen is possible only starting from firmware version N (NBTevo_N, O, P, Q, R, S, U, V, W, Y, Z....). For versions H, I, J, K, L and M, Full Screen mode will not work and you will have Split Screen mode. It needs firmware update for full screen to work.
